Eligability Standards
All applicants applying for township assistance will be processed according to written standard, without regard to the applicant's age, sex, religious creed, national origin, political belief, or disability.
The Perry Township Trustee's Office provides emergency assistance for individuals who meet the township eligibility standards featured at the bottom of the page. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and live within the bounds of Perry Township in order to begin the process. The office accepts walk-in applicants, promptly schedules those that return their completed applications, and serves all clients by order of arrival. To determine eligibility, the Trustee will consider resources and assets of the household such as cash on hand, checking and savings accounts, deposit certificates, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, grant proceeds, student loans or stipends, recreational vehicles, and any other assets. Persons who may qualify for any other benefit programs will also be required to formally apply for each of them. Perry Township will accommodate persons who are unable to physically come into the township office to apply for assistance. Arrangements for home visits may be made by communicating any restrictions at the time of application submission or during appointment scheduling. |
Application Process
Intake Interviews are by appointment only, please call the office to request an application and schedule prior to visiting in person. If you would like to download and fill out the application, a copy is available below.
The application process is lengthy and listed below are the required documents needed to qualify. The application itself serves as a legal affidavit and must state your situation as accurately and completely as possible. If you need further assistance with completing these forms, please contact us at 317-788-4815. If you are unable to print your required documents prior to the appointment, please email them to [email protected] one hour before the time scheduled. Failing to provide the necessary documents—either by email or in physical form at the time of your interview—will result in your appointment being rescheduled. If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, all adults are not present, you fail to bring a necessary interpreter, or you fail to bring the required documentation, your appointment will be rescheduled. Determinations will be made within 3 business days of the client's initial appointment. Holidays and weekends are excluded. This office operates under the Township Assistance Eligibility Standards for Perry Township in addition to State & Federal laws. Scheduled intake appointments only. Walk-in applicants will be assisted in filling out an application and upon completion be scheduled for an appointment at a later date. |
