Marvin G. Hawkins
Elected to the Perry Township Board in 1991, Marvin Hawkins is a long-time
resident of Perry Township and retired teacher of the Metropolitan School
District of Perry Township. He is the current Board President and has served
as Secretary of the Board in past years. Hawkins is a member of the
Southport J.C.'s and treasurer of the Perry Township GOP Club.
After graduating from George Washington High School, Hawkins served three
years in the United States Marine Core. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from
Hanover College in 1955 and a Master's Degree from Indiana University in
1962. From 1960 to 1995 he worked for the Indiana High School Athletic
Association and was responsible for running the state wrestling tournaments.
In 1985 he was inducted to the Indiana High School Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Hawkins has been happily married for 41 years with two children.
